"Truffle" Handspun Yarn

"Truffle" Handspun Icelandic Wool Yarn
Erica Knudson
My Man purchased a lot of Icelandic wool from an organic farm and suprised me with it for my birthday. The brown and white colors are the natural colors of this bulky handspun yarn, made by me (and I'm really proud of it).

Off the Hook ...and On the Hook

I've been busy working on all sorts of projects lately;
  • A shawlette for the "Shawl for the Fall" group that a friend and I started on Ravelry,
  • Some hats for our nieces,
  • ...and I'm learning to knit!  The last photo is of a scarf I've started - my first time following a pattern.

First "Freehand" Dish Towel

For a long time, I've wanted to learn to embroider dish towels to give as gifts. I've practiced a little with transfers, but decided to try my hand at a custom design.

This is a housewarming gift for some friends of ours who just moved.  It started out as an experiment, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.  This wonderful couple loves the outdoors - hence, the scrubby pines and "lake."

Monogrammed Jean Purse
Erica Knudson
Mid-project, I searched my stash of bags for something to keep my small embroidery projects in, and I found the perfect thing...a purse that I made in high school from a favorite pair of jeans.  I guess I've had embroidery on my mind for a while.

This is a painting done by my dad.  I remember staring at this with fascination when I was young, and now I have the pleasure of staring at it in my little hallway.  I enjoy it even more when my girl smiles every time we pass by it.
