GRACE BABY BLANKET

Grace Baby Blanket

Grace Baby Blanket
By Erica Knudson
This blanket was made with Sensations Bulky Yarn (8oz skein), leftover worsted weight yarn, and a size P (11.50mm) crochet hook.  The “Shell and V Stitch” used here was from page 152 of the stitch dictionary, Basic Crochet Stitches, published by Interweave Press in 2008. It has a wonderful texture and turned out beautifully with multi-colored yarn. Finished size is approximately 2.5 by 3ft.
Blanket:
1. Ch 64 (about 2.5ft, will be approximate width of blanket if same yarn and hook sizes are used).
2. Add 3 for base chain.
3. Continue with “Shell and V Stitch” pattern from Basic Crochet Stitches.
4. Continue on with rows until blanket is at desired length.
(In this example, rows were continued until the blanket was square and beyond, leaving just enough yarn for a sc border later on.)
Border:
(Change yarn color if desired.)
1. Chain 1.
2. Sc around entire blanket, continuing with “Shell and V Stitch” on the appropriate edges.
(Change to original yarn if desired.)
3. Repeat.  Fasten off and weave in ends.
4. Enjoy!
Key:ch = chain
sc = single crochet
